HELLO AGAIN EARTHLINGS.

6:02 P.M. Mother's Day!
Hi again little ones! Hope your days are swell wherever the hell you are! I only did that to rhyme. I'm a poet and I know it! If you're coming here from Lookbook, welcome, and I hope you like my little blog! It's pretty much my day, or whatever I feel like writing about, and usually it includes The Hives. Anyways, it's raining here in the prairies, and I actually love rain so much. I didn't get out today, but it was fun. Here's my day in a nutshell:
10:38 A.M. (approximately)
My dad woke me up to make breakfast for my mom, because it's mother's day and such. So we went downstairs and made eggs and toast. I tried to wake my sister up, but she just made noises and went back to bed. It's funny, because that's usually me that sleeps in, and her that gets up early. Wow. We all eat breakfast together once my entire family is up(there are only 4 of us), and then we give our mother her presents. We went to The Village yesterday and bought her some green earrings and tea. Yay!

And then for the rest of the day, we pretty much went our own ways and did chores and watched That 70's Show. If you haven't seen it, you should really check it out sometime. It's an amazing show.
Hope everyone's mother's days were wonderful, even if the weather was bad...

~YULIANA. (As the Swedes would pronounce it...) :)

Early Morning Wake Up Call

I have no idea why Early Morning Wake Up Call is the title, seeing as I got up at approximately 11 a.m. this morning. I guess I was just looking through song titles on iTunes, and I really love the cover that The Hives did this summer. I have a feeling that I'm turning into a hipster... I'm so hipster that I talk to dead people before they're dead. I am insanely weird today. I was writing on my walls with pencil a few minutes ago, but I erased it. I was wondering: why doesn't the word "umlaut" have any umlauts????? What the hell! There is a new post up on my 'serious' blog about my day today. And a new look on Lookbook. I'm thinking about taking Swedish classes because I love the Swedes. I'm not allowed to get a unicycle!! Unless I pay for it with my own money, and I have none, so this may be a problem... Anyoo, this is enough rambling for one day...

REAL.

I've noticed that all so called "popular" music is fake, auto tuned crap that is not worth listening to and has no deep or meaningful or good lyrics. Well, most of it. Like bieber, katy perry, kesha, those types. And bands too. But here is my list of some of my favourite good music.
1. The Hives.
Okay, so they may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I freaking love them. I have an obsession. They are a Swedish punk-turned-rock n' roll band from a small town, and they are now very famous in Europe and quite famous in the US, but not really here in Canada.
Recommended: won't be long, but they have many different songs...

2. Arctic Monkeys.
British. You can't always tell what they're talking about in interviews, and one time, they came to an awards show dressed as characters from The Wizard Of Oz. Oh, and another time, they got a random dude to go up and accept an award for them.
Recommended: fluorescent adolescent

3. Klaxons.
I think they do drugs. If they don't, then they are some seriously issued people. Good music though. They started wearing ugly sweaters just to get attention.
Recommended: golden skans

4. Black Keys.
Hipsters. I believe they are more famous, and they are very very awesome. Good music videos. Coming here soon.
Recommended: howlin' for you

5. The Clash.
They are very famous. I love them a lot. They are British. Old band. Yay. The singer has a lisp and some of The Hives' early music reminds me of them.
Recommended: white riot

6. Fratellis.
Stoner band. Insanely amazing dance music. Whenever it comes up on my iPod I can't help but listen to it.
Recommended: chelsea dagger

7. Hellacopters.
Another Swedish band that is friends with The Hives. I've only heard about two of their songs, but they are Swedish and one of the guys has a white top hat, so they deserve to be on here.
Recommended: (gotta get some action) now!

8. Franz Ferdinand.
I know there are more bands, but I can't quite think of any, so I'm going to an old choice. They are Scottish and I saw them here with my mom and sister a couple years back. Pretty good show. They have a music video where one of them is riding in a washing machine, so it's definitely worth a listen.
Recommended: ulysses

9. Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Karen O is amazing. She has really cool style, though I think Hayley Williams from Paramore copies her. They are kind of an insane band. Lots of screaming. But I like it.
Recommended: dull life

10. White Stripes.
They are a two person band that I think recently broke up. They wore only black red and white. Meg and Jack White scare me because they are very pale. Aaaaahh. Good music though.
Recommended: seven nation army

"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? Because your face is messed up."

Saturday, April 16, 4:41 p.m.
Went shopping in The Village. I don't see why there are so many hipsters in Winnipeg. It's like a rat problem. Or like in futurama, where the city is infested with owls. I wonder if hipsters live in random people's houses for years without the people knowing. I think there's a bird in my house, or so my mom thinks. It might be a sparrow. "we won't do anything about it until their little babies have left home." this is what I have to live with. Anyways, The Village. There was a loud band playing at the record store, so we went to a different place for a bit. They really shouldn't drive their coustomers away like that. When we went back it was better. I should have had some of that free cake they had on the counter. But you can't always trust people in record shops. Drugs, you know. I bought an Elton John Duets cd, because there was a Little Richard duet on it... I love Little Richard!!! The Hives introduced me to him... And he was on Sesame Street singing the rubber duckie song. I've managed to go a day without pants... Don't worry, I have tights and shorts on. Phew.

THINGS I NEED AND WHY I NEED THEM.

Hi. Here's a list of a few things I need... some of them are material and some aren't, but just live with it.

1. A European penpal.
Okay, so I've just always wanted to have a European friend. Plus, it would be much easier to talk to them if they have no idea who the people are that I'm talking about, and they will never meet these people. I would prefer a penpal who speaks English... or else there would be a problem. Or I could learn Swedish.

2. Doc Martens.
Hipsters wear them. I am a hipster. Hence, I need a pair.

3. The Hives.
They need to come here. Or else. I will actually be very upset if they never come here because I will never get the chance to present them with the scarf a few of my friends and I are knitting... And, you know, they're just the BEST LIVE BAND IN THE WORLD.

4. Pants.
All of my pants or bottoms or trousers are in the wash right now, so I am without pants. Thus, an issue. Also, pants are kind of necessary in daily life. Unless you go to an all girls private school where you wear kilts every single day. Thank goodness I go to one of those.

5.  A Band.
I have always wanted to be in a Swedish rock n' roll band since I heard The Hives. But this is a problem, because:
    a) I am not Swedish
    b) I can only play Seven Nation Army on electric bassguitar, and
    c) I can't sing or scream.
But I can jump quite well... I injured my knee doing it.

6. More Clothing Items.
I usually use my sister's clothes, and she's moving out in a year or 2, so this could be an issue. Anybody wanna lend me a few million dollars? Thanks.

7. A Life Like Georgia Nicholson's.
I want a life like this girl in a British teen book series. Read it. 1st book is called Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging. Tis quite a splendid read.

I have a feeling that there were more things I needed to say...
Well, too bad. Oh, and I found some pants. Bring Chloroform.
Julianananananaa

p.s. 8. I NEED TO BE BRITISH AND LIVE IN EITHER:
A) LONDON
B) BRIGHTON
C) SOME RANDOM EUROPEAN CITY.

P.S. Hope Mina doesn't mind that i put this letter up. It just seemed like a blog post. The Negatives is our band that we (Jordan, Mina, and I) have not yet started, but we know we want to kick ass. Magazines

Have you noticed that there are barely any good fashion magazines to read that still include pieces on music and books? I sure have. I can only list approximately two or three.

1. Nylon Magazine
Nylon is this crazy U.S. magazine that I am practically in love with. It has the best articles on music, fashion, and pretty much anything you can think of.  NYLON MAG

2. Teen Vogue
Teen Vogue is one of those must-have teen magazines. It includes everything from beauty to insane fashion to amazing celebrities, while still staying fun. My sister(No Fear Fashion) and I got the newest issue today, and it has a great article about Willow Smith. I may write a post about her and her style soon! Teen Vogue

3. Sandbox Magazine
This is a local Winnipeg fashion magazine, and it's really amazing. I don't have much info on it, because it's my sister who reads it most. But there was an article on one of the ballet's prima ballerinas, and it was awesome. Sandbox Mag

Manic Mondays

Well hi there! I actually got this idea from Mina K's blog, where she does something called Seven Stuffs Saturdays. So I guess it's kinda stealing. But this is different. On Mondays I'm gonna pick a few insanely bright or edgy pieces of clothing or random objects that I think are cool to feature. So here goes:

1. Alexander McQueen Armadillo Shoes

The District.

Sounds like a weird thriller/alien movie, right? We actually call it the Exchange. It's kinda a hipster neighbourhood, no, REALLY a hipster neighbourhood. Anyway, it's really good for shopping and all that, and it is also very photogenic. Here are some pictures, all by my sister, Erica. Her blog is on my blogroll, and it is called No Fear Fashion. These pictures are on there too.

I Love The Village

So today my sister, my mom and I went shopping in Osborne Village, otherwise known as The Village, otherwise known as the best place in Winnipeg to shop! We went to quite a few stores. I found a nice coat that I really liked at Out of the Blue, but after careful inspection, we figured that it was too small and that it wouldn't fit next year. So we went to a few more stores. Then we crossed the street and went in to Silver Lotus. That's where I found it. The most gorgeous coat in my universe. Kind of a royal blue, ruffle-ish things on the bottom part, and just perfect. I bought it. I wore it out of the store and went to Wild Planet, a shop converted from an old church where you can find a LOT of band merch. I had my mind set on finding a Hives t-shirt today. And I did find one. It is amazing and it fits perfectly and I am in love with it. It's black with the Hives member's faces on it and above the faces it says: THE HIVES in lettering that looks like lights. Well that made my life. Wow, now that I look back, I realize that I have written a whole bunch about just two pieces of clothing. Yay! Well, you can find pictures below, and enjoy!! :)

I HAVE BRITISH PANTS NOW.

WELL HI THERE, AGAIN. Whoops, my caps-lock was on! Hehe. Anyways, yesterday we got a notice in the mail. For what, you may ask? Hmmm, let me think.... MY BRITISH PANTS. O. M. G. YAY!! Oh. I don't think I've told you about my pants yet... so sorry about that... I'll explain now. ASOS is a British clothing website where you can purchase clothing and get it shipped to pretty much anywhere in the world(except for Antarctica. Well actually, I have no idea if you can get it in Antarctica... hmm, I'll check on that.), and it's designer brands and if you go to the clearance area, like I did, then you can get some really nice stuff for pretty cheap. Well, I ordered pants, and my dear sister, who is now telling me to get off the computer, got a necklace with old-looking keys on it, a black tank top, and a Vero Moda dress with shoulder pads. Now I'll tell you about my pants. They are very nice. They are an olive green, or 'Khaki', and they are knitted. They're kind of like sweats, but nice. Anyways, I got them today, and they're a bit itchy, but not too bad. They're made of wool, so it makes sense. Well, it seems as though I'm rambling... I'll tell you about my day in a while after my sister is off of the computer! Okey dokey... BYE!!!
..... for now.
Love,
JULIANA <3

Brits are weird.

So today we had two tests. Ew. One in science and another in english and I really don't know how to label the parts of the heart, so that was kind of a problem in the science test. Anyways, I'm watching a pretty amazing British television series about cars and it is titled Top Gear. Top Gear is very very good, but Brits are weird people. Dagger. They were talking about that word. On a car show. I'm confused, and that's kinda my motto because I'm always confused. I'm also really excited for Friday because I may be going to Mina's house for a sleepover and to work on our teen fashion-ish magazine, but I'm not quite sure if I can go yet. On Saturday I went to her birthday party, which was a mani-pedi and sushi thing. I got pink fingernails, and tourquoise toes!! It was really fun, but Saskia got wasabi up her nose or something because she was dipping sushi in soy sauce and wasabi. It was super hilarious! I gave Mina the 80's movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and some lip gloss that smells like peaches. Yum!! Well, I should probably go, but I'll write you a LIST about nice hair.

People With Amazing Hair

1. SAM RICHMOND
2. Pelle Almqvist from The Hives
3. Emma Labossiere
4. Jessica Sheih
5. Alec Taco Hill
6. Tia Oberoi
7. MINA KWOCZYNSKA DRATWA, BECAUSE I AM A NICE PERSON, UNLIKE HER.
8. Sara Grimes
9. Saskia Clarke
10. Julia Dignazio

There, you're welcome. Those people weren't in order from nicest hair to worst, except for Sam Richmond.

Mah Satchel

Well, I suppose it's actually my dad's, but I am in LOVE with it. Plus with this outfit, I look like a wise professor. And the tie I got at Goodwill. It's Ralph Lauren chaps, but it was FREAKING CHEAP. Yay! And my dad is kinda jealous of it... well this had better be short. Hope you like the satchel!! <3

4 Things

I want to write about my life too, as well as CLOTHING. But do not get me wrong. I LOVE CLOTHES. love. Now that we've gotten that out of the way: I shall explain a few things to you now.
1. My bestest friends in the entire world are: Mina, Tia, Alisha, Sevda, Izzy, Amrit, FIKE, Sue, Jordan(LOL), Sara, and many other people. OH! AND DR.MATTDESTRUCTION AND JONNY I SUPPOSE.
2. I am more than you think. Even my bestest friends in the entire world do not completely know me. Perhaps through this blog they will start to understand.
3. I'm kinda insecure-ish. I mean, I have a great family, great friends, a great home. But sometimes I feel that I'm not good enough or wish I was popular and gorgeous like some people in my grade. But whatever. You can't have everything. (though some people do...)
4. I need to go.

Bye for now!

Hey Little World!

Hey! So I'm Juliana, and I'm a 13 year-old blogger from Canada. Yay! So anyway, I'll just post my pics of different outfits and I hope you get inspired from them! Yup... I LOVE The Hives, which is a Swedish alternative/garage band and they are kinda super awesome. They have a song called 'Hey Little World!', hence the name of the post. Anyways, goodbye for now from coldness...
Juliana :)
